Kevin John Edusei

Since the 2007/08 season Kevin John Edusei is Music Director of the Augsburg Theatre. Before, he was in the same position at the Bielefeld Theatre, where he conducted „Fidelio“, „The Abduction from the Seragliol“, „Nabucco“ as well as the German premiere of Toshio Hosokawa’s „Hanjo“ to name just a few. As a guest he conducted the Berlin Concert House Orchestra, the Beethoven Orchestra in Bonn, the The Hague Residentie Orkest as well as the Ensemble Modern. As the winner of the Lucerne Festival Conductor’s Competition in 2007 he conducted „Gruppen für drei Orchester“ by Stockhausen at the festival. He actively participated in master classes by Kurt Masur, Jorma Panula, Sylvain Cambreling and Peter Eötvös. Whilst being a stipendiary of the Aspen Music Festival in 2004, David Zinman made him Academy Conductor. Since 2004 he is advocated by the German Music Board and was added to the artists’ list “maestros of tomorrow”. In addition, he was a scholarship holder of the International Ensemble Modern Academy and the Academy Music Theatre today. He studied at the UdK Berlin and the Royal University of Music in The Hague as a course member of Jac van Steen and Ed Spanjaard.
