studio XVII a.: Roland Götz

Roland Götz founded studio XVII augsburg in 1972, presenting a series of theme concerts, interpretation seminars and a record label, which has been awarded several times. Being specialised in keyboard music ranging from gothic until galant times, he performs at numerous concerts in Germany and abroad such as the Berlin Festival Weeks, the Landshut Court Music Days, the Old Music Days in Herne, the Antwerp Music Days, the 'Organo e cimbalo' in Rostock, the Organ Festival "Città di Treviso", the DIPOT 2000 in Prague, the Rhineland-Palatinate Summer of Culture and the Berlin/Brandenburg Organ Festival. His collection of instruments includes an Italian organ, a baldachin organ, different cembalos as well as an Ital-ian spinet. Roland Götz intensively works with authentic organs in concerts and in the context of recordings and has played the Ebert organ in Innsbruck, the Freund organ in Klosterneub-urg, the Schnitger organ in Stade, the Irsee Freiwiß organ, the Baumeister organ in Maihingen, the Hagelstein organ in Gartow, the Riepp organs in Ottobeuren, the Mundt organ in Prague, the Silbermann organs at the Freiberg Cathedral (Saxony) and the Putz organ in Schlägl. His repertoire includes organ and cembalo music from Spain, England and Italy as well as French clavecin literature or German music from gothic, renaissance, baroque or galant times.
